William Colbert is the Communications Coordinator and Webmaster at the International Reporting Project. Before joining IRP he worked at TranSecur, a private intelligence agency providing global security updates and analysis for corporations, governments and individuals.
He was formerly director of association communications at the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA), a professional trade association representing the electronic banking industry. While at NACHA William was responsible for press releases, memos, web site content and occasionally articles for trade publications.
He earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas, followed by post-graduate work in Communications and Public Policy at American University with a focus on Interactive Journalism. William is fluent in English and Spanish and a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) and the Society for Professional Journalists (SPJ).
